Enso Village, a Zen-inspired senior living community developed by The Kendal Corporation and San Francisco Zen Center, recently welcomed Nestor Eligio Mendez as the Vice President of Operations and Resident Experience. This position will collaborate with leadership teams to build a profoundly inclusive and forward-leaning workplace and campus community through developing and managing operational teams, executing mission-aligned people-related activities, and advancing sustainability efforts across Enso Village.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to step forward as Enso Village’s Vice President of Operations & Resident Experience,” shares Nestor. “I am passionate about advancing the resident experience through innovative practices within this community and ensuring older adults have opportunities to have a fulfilling and meaningful aging experience.”
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Nestor will oversee all resident-facing service functions, lead the culinary function, and oversee the design and delivery of health and holistic-wellbeing programs. In addition, in partnership with the People team, Nestor will engage team members at every stage of their lifecycle, including Diversity, Equality, Inclusivity, Belonging and Accessibility (DEIBA), hiring, performance, team development, education and training and more. In his role to advance sustainability efforts, Nestor will define team behaviors and commitments to make sustainability a core Enso Village practice. His other responsibilities will include developing cross-functional teams to manage procurement and sourcing activities and participating in community activities alongside team members.

Nestor is a member of the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, known as RCFE. His time with this organization is dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources and best practices that will empower residential care home professionals with ready-to-use information, ideas and tools that both challenge and inspire them.
An accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in the field of senior living and aging services, Nestor earned his associate degree in health care administration at the University of Phoenix. He has earned administrator certifications for RCFE in California, Washington and Arizona.
