Enso Village, a senior living community developed by The Kendal Corporation and the San Francisco Zen Center, recently welcomed Florence Van Heusden as the Health and Wellbeing Director. Within this role, she will oversee all aspects of resident wellness, including physical and psychosocial care. She will also act as a key player in building and maintaining effective care teams within the community.
“We are excited to welcome Florence to the Enso Village community,” shares Rosemary Jordan, Chief Executive Officer at Enso Village. “Her experience in healthcare provides the valuable qualities and understanding needed to serve the community at Enso Village through the lens of mindful aging.”
With over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality care to patients, Florence brings a positive track record in supporting widespread healthcare system improvements. Florence’s most recent role was as a nursing manager where she led comprehensive staff member training covering key topics and best practices to drive workflow improvements. Serving as an active collaborator, she also helped develop new infrastructure complex care management and needed infrastructure development. Florence is a California State Board Certified registered nurse and has served in an array of healthcare settings spanning Marin and Sonoma County.
“I feel passionately that patient advocacy is of top priority. Throughout the years, I have learned to better understand other’s experiences throughout their health journey. I am excited to begin my journey at Enso Village, which holds a unique mission to form an authentic and engaged community, where each person can follow the path of their choosing,” shares Florence.
Born in The Netherlands, Florence has lived in Sonoma County for 29 years. In her free time, she enjoys great conversations, games, books, traveling and being outdoors with nature. She holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from the College of Marin in Kentfield, California.
