Research as a Practice.
Research can be described in a way that is aligned with presence and mindfulness. RE-search. To look again. This way of understanding research fits well within the Guiding Principles of Enso Village, especially those of dedication to the evolving the experience of aging, honoring each person’s authentic path, and paying warm-hearted attention to everyday life. As we work to create a new way to age in community, we will “look again” with our research practices.
Enso Village will have a multifaceted approach to research involving:
- Learning about and responding to research related to the interests, needs, and curiosities of the community. This research-informed approach will ensure we are up-to-date with best practices and emerging innovation.
- Welcoming research and researchers onsite when their studies fit our mission, values, and practices. These will initially be through our partnerships with several local colleges and universities and expand as interest builds.
- Generating original research ideas from within, with a focus on participatory and resident-involved methods.
- Responding to data from internal processes as part of ongoing program evaluation.
